Road mishap claims man’s life; wife, 2 sons critical in Odisha

Berhampur: Tragedy struck a family of Erendra village in Ganjam district after a man died while his wife and two sons suffered grievous injuries in a severe road mishap near Jagannathpur on Digapahandi-Aska road today.

The deceased has been identified as Satosh Pradhan. The three injured were undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here till last reports came in.

Sources said the four were going to their village on a motorcycle this morning when a speeding pickup van hit the bike from behind near Jagannathpur. While Santosh died on the spot, the three others were rushed to community health centre (CHC) at Adapada and later shifted to MKCG Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Patapur police have detained the van and initiated a probe in this connection.
