Summer vacation extended: Odisha schools to reopen on June 21

Bhubaneswar: In view of the heat wave condition across Odisha, the State Government has extended summer vacation of schools by three days, informed School and Mass Education Department Secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra today.

The schools, which were earlier scheduled to reopen on June 18 after conclusion of summer vacation, will now reopen on June 21.

If the heat wave condition prevails after June 21, further decision on the vacation will be taken accordingly, the official added.

Worth mentioning, hot and humid condition prevails in Odisha even after the South-west monsoon arrived in the state on June 8.

The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has predicted that the monsoon will remain weak in Odisha till June 20.
