Tigress ‘Sneha’ gives birth to two cubs at Odisha’s Nandankanan zoo

Bhubaneswar: Good news for animal lovers! Tigress ‘Sneha’ today gave birth to two cubs at the Nandankanan Zoological Park in Odisha capital. With this, the number of tigers at the zoo mounted to 27.

The white tigress delivered one cub at 3.38 AM and another at 5.44 AM. Sex and colour of the cubs were yet to be identified. Mating of the tigress with normal colour tiger ‘Saif’ took place 105 days ago, zoo sources said.

‘Saif’ was brought from Hyderabad zoo under the animal exchange programme for bloodline change.  The zoo now houses 13 normal colour tigers (5 male and 8 female), 8 white tigers (3 male and 5 female), 4 melanistic tigers (all male) and two cubs, sources added.
