Utkal varsity to have ‘studio’ for Mass Comm students in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Good news for the students enrolled into Journalism & Mass Communication course in Utkal University, as the premier educational institution will have its own studio on its premises soon.

With establishing its own studio, the students of Journalism & Mass Communication and other departments need not to depend on outside organisations for getting training in video shoot and video editing.

The discussion has been held with the heads of various universities last week about exchange of education for the Mass Communication students with leading educational institutions outside Odisha in the varsities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, informed Utkal University Vice Chancellor Prof. Soumendra Mohan Patnaik during a function on Tuesday.

Attending inaugural function of ‘Affinity 2018’ organised by Journalism & Mass Communication department yesterday, Utkal University PG Council Chairman Brahmananda Satapathy said that the journalists should not hide the truth under pressure.

Whenever the journalists are writing against any organisation, they should take the authorities’ opinion, he advised, adding that several programmes are being initiated towards expansion of the Journalism & Mass Communication department in the university.
