Village head rapes six-year-old girl in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: In a shameful incident, a village head allegedly raped a six-year-old girl in Patapur area of Odisha’s Ganjam district.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by the mother of the victim yesterday, police have detained the accused, identified as Mrutyunjaya Das, for questioning.

As per the allegation, Das committed the offence on December 3. The complainant further alleged that she was stopped by aides of the accused when she was going to the police station for filing complaint.

The woman has demanded stringent action against the village head.
