Voice of SOA Community wins national award for promoting puppetry

Bhubaneswar, Mar 14:

The Voice of SOA Community, the community radio station run by the Sikshaya ‘O’ Anusandhan, a deemed-to-be university here, has won the top award for promoting local culture at the 4th Community Radio Sammelan at New Delhi on Thursday.SOA

Station director of the community radio station Rusi Patnaik received the first prize for this category from Bimal Julka, secretary in the ministry of Information and Broadcasting at a function held at the Vigyan Bhavan.

The secretary and other dignitaries present on the occasion appreciated Voice of SOA Community’s venture in promoting the dying art of puppetry broadcast by the station.

Patnaik explained to the audience how this particular program was planned and executed and dedicated the award to the resource person, Suresh Balabantaray who passed away recently.

Supriya Sahu, joint secretary in the ministry of Information and Broadcasting was also present at the function.

The Voice of SOA Community, operated by the SOA University, has been broadcasting programs to create awareness and disseminate information on a number of  subjects including education, health care and moral values.
