Woman loses leg as train hits her in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: In a tragic incident, a woman lost her leg and a man sustained critical injuries after a train hit the two at Rajghat railway station in Odisha’s Balasore district today.

The victims, identified as Bharati Sahu of Ramachandrapur village under Jaleswar police limits and Deepak Sahu of nearby Bantuli village, were rescued by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and admitted to the Basta community health centre.

They were later shifted to the Balasore district headquarters hospital as their condition deteriorated.

The mishap took place when both were walking on the railway track this morning while the train hit the duo, reports said.

Interestingly, Bharati had gone missing since November 22 and a complaint in this regard was lodged by her husband Kartikeswar with Jaleswar police.
