4-year-old boy among 11 tests COVID-19 positive in Cuttack city

Cuttack:   Out of 14 new COVID-19 cases reported from Cuttack district in the last 24 hours, 11 including a 4-year-old  boy belong to Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) area.  With this, the COVID-19 tally in the Silver City surged to 213.

Of the fresh cases, three are local contacts while remaining four patients were under quarantine.  Active surveillance, contact tracing, and sanitization drive in the concerned areas are underway, said the CMC.

Details of the fresh cases

Home Quarantine:

-A 32-year-old female from  Shanti Vihar in Kanika Road.

-A 57-year-old female from Shanti Vihar in Kanika Road.

-A 4-year-old male from Shanti Vihar in Kanika Road.

-A 32-year-old male from Shanti Vihar in Kanika Road.

All are contacts of a previous positive case reported from Kanika Road.

Institutional Quarantine:   

-A 35-year-old male and a 45-year-old male. Both were lodged in isolation ward of SCB Medical College and Hospital.

-A 24-year-old male. He was in isolation ward at a private nursing home.

– A 69-year-old male and he had come in contact with a previous positive case from Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC).

Local contacts:

-A 26-year-old female from CDA Sector-7

-A 38-year-old male from Jagatpur

-A 31-year-old male from CDA Sector-9

 

Currently, the number of active cases in the city stands at 179. While 32 patients have recovered from the disease, two succumbed to the virus.
