7 oxygen plants to come up in Odisha soon

Bhubaneswar: While oxygen crisis creating a havoc in the country amidst the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has extended a helping hand in setting up seven oxygen plants in Odisha.

The seven oxygen plants will be constructed in Jharsuguda, Boudh, Koraput, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Bhadrak districts.

The plants will be setup at six District Headquarters Hospitals (DHHs) and Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Center (AHRCC) in Cuttack, informed an official.

 Oxygen will be supplied to hospitals through pipes and the project will be completed within a stipulated time period.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will build the oxygen plants, while NHAI will look after the civil and electrical works. Sites have been finalised for setting up of the plants. The construction work has already begun in Cuttack and Boudh, informed NHAI AGM  RP Panda.
