Cop misbehaves with elderly couple in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police of Marine police station in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district allegedly misbehaved with an elderly couple.

Sadhu Charan Sahu and his wife of Naharana village have lodged a complaint with Jagatsinghpur Additional SP Biswanath Mishra alleging that ASI Rabindra Senapati scolded and manhandled them.

On July 16, Sahu and his son had gone to the police station for mutual settlement of a case pertaining to a dispute between Sahu’s son and another person. However, none from the other party turned up, following which Sahu and his son returned home from the police station.

Later, ASI Senapati went to Sahu’s house and allegedly misbehaved with the couple. ASP Mishra has ordered Jagatsinghpur SPDO to probe into the matter and submit a report. Necessary action will be taken after submission of report, Mishra said.
