[WATCH] Crying woman goes on to touch cop’s feet in Odisha capital. Here’s why

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police turned deaf ear to the requests of a woman motorist who was caught violating road safety rules today. As per reports, the woman motorist was caught by a senior police official for wrong side driving while dropping her child at Stewart School in Bhubaneswar.

Accepting her fault, the lady motorist sought an apology and requested the senior police official to let her go. As her another child was alone at home and hungry, the woman pleaded with folded hands to the cop to allow her go. Even she fell to her knees before the police official.

Instead of considering the requests, the cop snatched the key of the woman’s two-wheeler. Some bystanders also appealed the police official to let her go, but all the pleas fell on deaf ears.

In her reaction, DCP (Traffic) Sagarika Nath said, “Wrong side driving is the reason for seizing the vehicle, which is very much as per the law. When you drive on the wrong side of the road you put other law abiding citizen’s lives at risk and we will take action against those risking other’s lives, irrespective of who that person is. And we will not be sorry for upholding the law.”
