Five injured in leopard attack in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh: Five persons including two women were injured in a leopard attack in Hemagir forest range in Sundargarh district today evening.

Residents of Badarampia village under Hemagir forest range said a leopard strayed into the village at around 6.30 PM and attacked the villagers. During the attack, as many as five villagers were critically injured.

When the villagers carrying sticks together chased the leopard, the wild animal ran into the nearby forest.

The injured, Nalini Biswal, Parameswara Bhoi, Niranjan Bhoi, Kesab Makar and Padmabati Makar were later admitted to the Hemagir hospital.

Couple of days back, another villager was injured in a bear attack while collecting mushroom in the nearby forest.
