Odisha govt had honoured chit fund company chief, admits minister

Cooperation and Excise minister Damodar Rout on Wednesday admitted in the Odisha Assembly that the owner of chit fund company Arthatatwa Multi-purpose Cooperative Agency, Pradip Sethi was felicitated by the state government.

Replying to a question by BJP member Dilip Ray, he said the Odisha State Cooperative Union is one of the top cooperative institutions in the state that imparts education and training to all working and managing members and employees of all cooperative institutions in Odisha apart from disseminating information relating to the basic objectives and policies.

For effective implementation of its work plan, the Union observes All India Cooperation Week every year in accordance with its rules and felicitates successful Cooperative institutions and workers through its award selection committee.

“In this process, the Union had felicitated Sethi on November 17, 2010 as the “best Cooperative person”, Rout informed the House.
