Sahu’s counsel today appeared before Civil Court (Senior Division) here and sought more time from the court for his client to make his submission in the case.

It may be recalled here that the court on March 7 had served summons to Sahu to appear before it in person or through his attorney on April 5 in connection with the civil defamation suit filed by Marik against him on March 4.

Earlier on March 1, Marik had filed a criminal defamation suit against Sahu in Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court here for Rs 50 lakh under IPC section – 500, 501 and 502.

Notably, Sahu on February 20 had alleged that Marik has close links with the gangster Dhalasamanta brothers (D-brothers).

Later on February 23, he further alleged Marik to have pocketed seven crores from arrested brothers. He had also said that Marik’s now transferred stenographer Rabindra Sethi used to take care of his illegal transactions and invest them in various places.

Marik, on the other hand, had demanded evidence of his claim and had threatened to drag the matter to the court as we reported here.
