Class-IV girl drowns while taking bath in pond in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: An eight-year-old girl of Korada village under Nuagaon block in Nayagarh district drowned while taking bath in a nearby pond this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Urmila, daughter of one Jambeswar Pradhan of the village.

Sources said Urmila, a Class-IV student had gone to the pond with her three friends to take bath at around 9 AM today. Suddenly, she slipped and fell into the water. Seeing this, her friends started screaming for help, following which locals rushed to the spot, rescued the girl and admitted her to Mahipur Community Health Centre (CHC). However, doctors declared her brought dead.
