FIR lodged against violators of quarantine rules in Odisha

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack/Sambalpur: Amid the COVID-19 scare, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today lodged complaints against two persons at Chandrasekharpur police station for violating quarantine rules.

The two persons were in house quarantine at Sailashree Vihar in Bhubaneswar. However, it was found out that they came out in public.

Later a team of officials from BMC, police and Health department lifted the two persons from their house in an ambulance and took them to a government quarantine centre.

The Dhanupali police in Sambalpur today registered a case against a person who violated quarantine guidelines on COVID-19.

As per reports, the person, who recently returned from Uzbekistan, was found violating the quarantine norms. Based on the report of empowered authority and preliminary inquiry, the police found a prima facie case. The Dhanupali police then registered a case against the concerned person under Section 188/271 of IPC.

Similarly, the Rapid Response Team caught three persons from Rousapatna and Kesarpur areas in Cuttack, who were advised home quarantine, for violating the rules. The three persons were then shifted to a home quarantine opened at the OCA Club.
