House of widow burnt down by angry residents

Bhadrak, March 10:

Angry residents burnt down the house and personal belongings of a widow, who sustained critical burn injuries, for her alleged involvement in flesh trade in Champua area of Bhadrak district in Odisha on Wednesday.

The woman has been admitted in Bhadrak Govt. Hospital in critical condition.

Daughter of the victim has registered an FIR against the Khandiabazar villagers for burning down their house and personal belongings.

Bhadrak Rural Police rushed to the village and brought the situation under control.

According to police, the woman was residing with her daughters near Charampa Canal Road for years in Khandiabazar village.

Local residents had earlier complained to the district administration and police to take action against her for her alleged complicity in prostitution.

Police had earlier registered a case against the woman.
