Odisha High Court on Monday posted the next hearing to March 13, in the petition filed by former BJD MLA Rabi Nanda challenging the election of Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Congress MLA from Jeypore alleging irregularities in the last assembly election.

Adjudicating over the case, Justice Biswanath Rath heard the arguments of the former legislator for five days.

While the court concluded the hearing in the case, the next hearing has been posted to March 13 where other witnesses would depose before the court.

It may be recalled that the High Court on Feb 23 had slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on senior BJD leader and former minister Rabi Nanda for seeking to delay court proceedings by submitting wrong information in his affidavit.

Besides, the court had also imposed a fined of Rs 5, 000 last year after rejected the revision petition filed by Nanda on November 17 last year for filing the petition after lapse of the stipulated period for filing such petitions.
