Maoists torch 3 tractors at contractor camp in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Continuing their violent activities in the district, Maoists set three tractors on fire at a contractor camp in Miangapadara area under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Kalahandi district late on Tuesday night. The red rebels also left a poster before fleeing the spot, sources said.

Around 15-20 armed Maoists barged into the camp and threatened the labourers present there before torching the three tractors, sources added.

In the poster left by the Maoists, they have demanded proper wages for labourers working for the company which has set the contractor camp.

On being informed, police reached the spot and started investigation. Combing operation has been intensified in the area following the incident.
