Odisha: Ganjam SP acts Good Samaritan; facilitates accident victim to hospital in his vehicle

Aska: Ganjam Superintendent of Police (SP) Jagmohan Meena today rescued a road accident victim near Pakalapalli village under Aska tehsil in the district. The SP later took the youth to a nearby health facility for treatment. This act of the senior police official has earned accolades from local denizens.

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Shatrughan Samal from College Square of Aska in the district.

According to a source, SP Meena was on his way from Bhanjanagar locality when he spotted the injured youth lying on the roadside in a helpless condition after falling down from the motorcycle on which the youth was travelling. The youth was going elsewhere in the district, the source added.

“A youth who had sustained severe injuries was initially taken to a hospital in Aska by Ganjam SP in his vehicle and provided with primary treatment. Later, the injured was shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MKCGMCH) in Berhampur for further treatment,” a doctor of MKCGMCH stated.
