Odisha: Mother-daughter duo injured in bear attack

Jharsuguda: A woman and her 16-year-old daughter suffered grievous injuries after a wild bear attacked them at College Pada in Junadihi of Jharsuguda district in wee hours today.

Sources said Anita Meher (37) and her daughter Rashmi went outside at around 4.30 am to pluck flowers. A wild bear came in front of them suddenly and attacked them. Hearing their scream, locals rushed to the spot and drove away the animal.

The mother-daughter duo was later admitted to TRL Hospital for treatment. Condition of the two is stable now, doctors said.
