Odisha shivers in cold, mercury below 10 deg C at 19 places

Bhubaneswar: Intense cold wave conditions continue to shiver Odisha as minimum temperature remained below 10 degree Celsius at 19 places in the state today.

While Daringibadi and Phulbani in Kandhamal district chilled at 4 and 4.5 degree Celsius, respectively, temperature remained as low as 9.5 degree Celsius in capital city Bhubaneswar.

Dense fog blanketed many places in Kandhamal district creating inconvenience for commuters due to low visibility. Chilly conditions forced many in the district to stay indoors during the morning.

Though slight increase in minimum temperature at most places of the state has been observed by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), coldwave condition is likely to prevail during the next 48 hours.
