Odisha weather alert: Thunderstorm likely in 16 districts

Bhubaneswar: Thunderstorm warning has been issued for right districts in Odisha today.

As per the latest weather forecast by the Meteorological Department, parts of Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Sundergarh and Keonjhar will experience moderate thunderstorm and light rainfall.

Gusty wind at the speed of 40 kmph is also likely in these areas, according to the prediction of weathermen.

Such conditions will prevail between 2:15 pm and 5:15 pm in one or two areas of these districts today.

Furthermoremore, thunderstorm will also lash Boudh, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Malkangiri and Mayurbhanj between 2:45 pm and 5:45 pm today.

On the other hand, western region of Odisha has been reeling under the impact of heatwave with eleven stations recording a temperature above 40 degree Celsius, yesterday.
