One hacked to death over buffalo theft in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: A person was allegedly hacked to death with a sword over buffalo theft in Odisha’s Malkangiri district yesterday.

The accused has surrendered before police after committing the crime, reports said.

According to police sources, three buffaloes of Kartik Khila and Sadhu Santala of Sadipata village under Chitrakonda police limits in the district were stolen a month ago.

Alleging involvement of Jagu Kharo of Ramaguda village in the incident, Kartik and his associates thrashed the former yesterday.

Jagu was later hacked to death by Kartik with a sword, police said.
