Two killed, 2 critical as van hits auto in Odisha’s Balasore  

Balasore: At least two persons were killed and two others critically injured after an auto they were travelling in collided with a van on NH-60 near Rupsa police station in Balasore district late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Brajamohan Senapati and Kamalakant Swain.

Sources said Brajamohan (52) of Taharpur village had gone to a wedding party to supply Gup Chup along with his son Rakesh and friend Rajendra Hati in an auto. While returning at around 1 AM, a speeding van collided with the auto near Rupsa police station and fled the spot.

While Brajamohan and Kamalakant, auto driver, died on the spot, Rajendra and Rakesh sustained critical injuries. The injured were rushed to the Balasore district headquarters (DHH) and later sifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack as their conition deteriorated.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
