The Vaishali CJM court in Bihar had allowed the Commissionerate Police to take them on a 7-day transit remand.

The accused duo, identified as Bhagwat Thakur, a truck driver, and Vijay Shah, are being grilled at an undisclosed location here, a police official said.

They had gone absconding from Khordha with a truck after the robbery, the official added.

Notably, the accused were arrested from Bihar on Tuesday. While one of them was arrested from Patna, another was nabbed from Begusarai area in Bihar.

The Commissionerate Police had formed a special squad to arrest the looters. Police had also prepared sketches of five dacoits on the basis of descriptions given by the bank staff and customers who were present at the bank during the incident.

It may be recalled here that five armed miscreants had looted over Rs 13 lakh and gold ornaments weighing around one kg from UCO bank’s Bapujinagar branch in Bhubaneswar on September 28.
