Voting for final phase of Odisha panchayat polls held

Bhubaneswar, Feb 21:

Voting for the fifth and final phase of the three-tier panchayat polls in Odisha began today from 7 am at polling booths across the state and will continued till noon.

In this phase, a total of 44,50,893 voters will elect 150 Zilla Parishad Members, 1,173 Sarpanchs and Panchayat Samiti Members and 16,148 Ward Members in 58 blocks across 26 districts out of 30, barring Angul, Boudh, Jharsuguda and Malkangiri.

Police forces were deployed at sensitive booths to avoid any untoward incident. Besides, security was tightened in Maoist-hit districts.
