Four Odisha IAS officers appointed observers for J&K, Jharkhand polls

The Election Commission of India has appointed four IAS officers from Odisha as observers for Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand scheduled to begin from November 25.

They are, Ashok Tarenia, director, Tourism; Guru Prasad Mishra, secretary to State Information Commissioner; Akshaya Kumar Pani, additional secretary, Water Resources and Chudamani Seth, additional secretary, Rural Development.

Elections in these two states would be held in five phases while the counting of votes is scheduled on December 25.
