MLA Pravat Biswal discharged from Delhi hosp, to return Odisha soon

New Delhi: BJD’s Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Pravat Biswal, who was undergoing treatment at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre here, got discharged from the hospital today.

“I am feeling better now. I will return Odisha after some days,” an evidently happy and healthy Biswal told reports after being discharged.

The legislator was earlier undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. He was later shifted to the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre on July 7 for better treatment.

It may be recalled here that the Orissa High Court had granted him conditional bail on June 26 against cash security of Rs 20 lakh and two solvent securities of Rs 5,000 each.

Notably, Biswal was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the wee hours of September 19, last year from his Mahanadi Vihar residence in Cuttack for his alleged complicity in the Seashore Group chit fund scam.

Later on September 25, as the health condition of the BJD lawmaker deteriorated, a panel of doctors comprising of Orthopaedic, Medicine, Surgery and Cardiology specialists treating him at the Capital Hospital recommended for his shifting to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
