Odisha: Gopal Chandra Panda, Jagannath Behera receive Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja Samman

Bhubaneswar: Odia Language Literature and Culture department and Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi today gave away Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja Samman, Akademi awards and Kabichandra Kalicharan Yuva Pratibha Samman for the year 2021 and 2022 to deserving personalities at Rabindra Mandap here.

Gopal Chandra Panda (Odissi song) was awarded with Kabi Samrat Upendra Bhanja award for the year 2021 while renowned Pala artiste Jagannath Behera got the award for the year 2022. The duo got Rs 5 lakh cash prize each.

As many as 16 artistes got Akademi Awards for the year 2021 while 15 artistes received the awards for the year 2022. The artistes received Rs 2 lakh cash prize each.

Altogether five personalities received Kabichandra Kalicharan Yuva Pratibha Samman for the year 2021 while five other artistes got the awards for the year 2022. Each of them received Rs 50,000 as cash prize.

Odia Language Literature and Culture & Tourism Minister Aswini Kumar Patra was the chief guest of the award giving ceremony.
