Odisha introduces new subjects in school curriculum for Class 9, 10 students

Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, today introduced new subjects in school curriculum for students in Class 9 and 10 for the academic season 2022-23.

Official source said that the board has decided to add Book Review, Project Work, Co-curricular Activities, Basic IT Skills to the courses of Class 9 and 10.

While the new subjects will be introduced for the students of Class 9 during the current session, the new curriculum will be implemented for both Class 9 and 10 from next academic session, the BSE stated today.

As per the BSE, the subjects will be compulsory for the students. Each subject will carry 25 marks and the examination in the subjects will be conducted in four phases. The assessment will be made for 5 marks each in first 3 phases and it will be for 10 marks in final phase. The students will get grades based on the percentage secured in the test. The grades will be reflected on the board certificate.
