Odisha: Paradeep-Keonjhar MEMU train via Kendrapara to be flagged off on March 5

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off a MEMU train between Paradeep and Keonjhar via Kendrapara on March 5.

The Prime Minister will flag off the MEMU train at Chandikhol in Jajpur district during his Odisha visit on March 5 (Tuesday), said Khurda Road Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) HS Bajwa today.

“The new MEMU train will run in between Paradeep and Keonjhar via Kendrapara,” added the DRM.

Senior officials of the Railways have inspected the Paradeep-Haridaspur railway line ahead of the launch of the new MEMU train, sources said.

The Prime Minister will also dedicate the 162 Km Bansapani – Daitari – Tomka – Jakhapura rail line to the nation. It will not only enhance the existing traffic facility’s capacity but also facilitates efficient transportation of iron and manganese ore from Keonjhar District to the nearest ports and steel plants, significantly contributing to regional economic growth, sources added.
