Odisha youth blackmails over 100 girls with morphed pics creating fake accounts

Bhubaneswar: The Cyber Police in Odisha’s Cuttack city today arrested a youth on charges of blackmailing over 100 girls and women with their morphed photos by creating fake social media accounts.

Accused Dinesh Kumar Sethi has been produced in a local court, police said.

The accused used to chat with girls and women on various social media platforms, including Instagram, and collect their phone numbers, said an official of Cyber Police.

Once he gets detailed information on any girl, the accused downloads her profile photo and opens fake social media account in her name. He used to post the morphed photos of the girl on the fake social media account, he added.

“The accused used to seek money from the victim to delete her morphed photos. He had blackmailed at least a 100 girls and women through their morphed photos. We came to know all this during our investigation,” said the official.
