Spurned lover posts Odisha girl’s contact number on FB as call girl

Rourkela: Unable to take rejection, a youth in Odisha allegedly posted his love interest’s personal mobile number and other details on a social networking site and branded her a call girl.

The incident has been reported from Odisha’s Steel City where the accused identified as P Vinay Kumar shared the personal details of the girl as well as objectionable content on Facebook.

As per reports, the youth befriended the complainant on the social media platform and was in touch with her through the virtual world. After almost two years, the youth proposed to the girl which she turned down. Unable to bear rejection, the accused allegedly posted objectionable content on the internet.

“I had a fight with the girl after which we were not on talking terms. I was angry and posted the girl’s mobile number mistakenly on Facebook. I had also written call girl in the post,” accused P Vinay Kumar said.

When the girl got anonymous calls and was taken aback on being asked for providing service, she filed a complaint with Bonda Munda Police Station here after which police swung into action and began probe into the matter.

“We had contacted the Facebook office based in California. We got the details of the accused from them. After raid on his house, we have seized the mobile phone and the SIM card used to post the objectionable content on the social networking site. The accused has confessed to his crime,” Sushant Kumar Das, Inspector-in-Charge, Bonda Munda Police Station said.

Police have arrested the accused and forwarded to court.
