Tigress Ankita gives birth to 5 cubs at Nandankanan Zoo in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Tigress Ankita has become mother for second time at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) here today. The red tigress gave birth to five cubs including one stillborn at Enclosure No. 31.

Of five, one cub was stillborn. The four newborns are red in colour. Both mother and her cubs have been kept under CCTV surveillance. Tigress Ankita is found to have taking care of her newborns, informed the zoo authorities.

According to reports, Ankita was pregnant with Royal Bengal Tiger Nandan.

With this, the tiger population at Nandankanan has reached 31, of which 7 are white tigers.
