Former Aditya Birla Group HR head Santrupt Misra joins BJD in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Business leader and Aditya Birla Group’s former HR Director Dr. Santrupt Misra joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha.

He joined the ruling party of Odisha in the presence of BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and senior party leaders including Pranab Prakash Das, Pratap Deb and Snehangini Chhuria at Naveen Niwas here today.

Dr. Misra hails from Puri district. During his professional career, he served as the Director of Human Resources for Aditya Birla Group and Group Director of Birla Carbon and Director of Chemicals.

“I stayed outside Odisha for many years. Still, I had kept a portion for Odisha in my heart. After working many years outside the country, I had wished to return to Odisha and serve people here,” he said after joining the BJD.

Misra said he joined the BJD after being inspired by CM Naveen Patnaik’s ideology.

“The way CM Naveen Patnaik has taken forward the state to the height of growth and has been ruling for last 25 years on the basis of fundamental principles and by bringing spiritualism in the administration, I got truly inspired from this,” he said.

He said that he will work for the people of Odisha, strengthen the party with support of other senior party leaders.

He joined the party amid the political debates doing the rounds over probable candidates for Rajya Sabha polls from Odisha.

When asked about his possibility to get a Rajya Sabha ticket from the state, he said, “I formally joined the BJD after being inspired by CM Naveen Patnaik’s popularity. I have worked 28 years in corporate sector. Whatever assignment will be given to me, I will discharge my duty effectively.”

Soon after joining the party, Patnaik appointed him to the post of National Spokesperson of BJD.

Besides, the party appointed Sanjay Dasburma as its Spokesperson.
