Bhubaneswar: The Make in Odisha Conclave-2022 has generated investment intents of Rs 10.5 lakh crore with potential for 10.5 lakh direct and indirect employment, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the fourth day of the investors’ summit here today.

“It’s heartening to see the huge response we have received especially in the post Covid scenario. Let us all work hard to implement these investments on the ground and take Odisha to a new era of growth. I would like to assure all our investors that we will walk the extra mile for them. We will walk the talk. It will be a win-win situation,” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister thanked the FICCI team for their support for the successful organization of the Make in Odisha Conclave-2022. “I would like to give special thanks to our country partners, Japan, Norway and Germany. I hope that we further strengthen our relationships and create more opportunities for mutual trade, commerce, and people-to-people contact. I thank each one of you for your immense contribution. Let the juggernaut move on,” he said.

The state has received as many as 145 investment proposals worth Rs 5,49,764 crore in minerals, metals, and metal ancillary and downstream sector at the Make in Odisha Conclave-2022. If implemented, these projects have the potential to create 3,55,615 jobs, said a senior official of the Industry department.

The power and renewable & green energy sector in Odisha has received investment intents worth Rs 2,38,455 crore while the logistics & infrastructure sector got proposals worth Rs 1,19,197 crore. The investment intents in the logistic sector can create 1,89,039 employment opportunities in Odisha, said the official.

The agriculture and food processing sector has attracted investment proposals worth Rs 7,249 crore having the potential to create 1,44,655 jobs in the state, he added.
