Odisha: Elderly man dies, wife, grandson critical in road mishap

Soro: A 60-year-old man died and three others, including his wife and grandson suffered grievous injuries after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a speeding truck in Soro area of Balasore district this morning.

At around 7 am, Gobinda Bindhani of Gopinathpur along with his wife Uma and grandson Debasish was going to a fair at Betada under Basudevpur block in Bhadrak district to set up a stall and sell items. However, a truck hit the auto from behind near Soro College Square on NH-16, following which Gobinda died on the spot.

Locals rushed to the spot and sent all the injured to hospital for treatment. On receiving information, police reached and sent the body for post-mortem and also began an inquiry.
