Odisha Governor invites CM-designate Mohan Majhi to form new Government

Bhubaneswar: Governor of Odisha Raghubar Das today invited BJP leader Mohan Charan Majhi to form the new Government after the constitution of the 17th Legislative Assembly of the State.

The Chief Minister-designate, along with BJP Legislature Party members, met the Governor earlier in the day to convey that Majhi has been elected as the Leader of Bharatiya Janata Party Members.

After being satisfied that the BJP commands a majority in Odisha Legislative Assembly, the Governor extended an invitation to the CM-designate to form the new Government. Majhi accepted the invitation and also communicated to the Governor that the Council of Ministers would like to be sworn in at 4.55 PM in Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on June 12 (tomorrow).

Accordingly, the Governor has appointed Majhi as the new Chief Minister. The new Council of Ministers, along with two Deputy Chief Ministers, headed by Majhi will be sworn in.
