Woman schoolteacher killed on way home in Odisha

Jajpur:  In a gruesome incident, a woman schoolteacher was allegedly killed by unidentified miscreants in broad daylight at Racchipur village under Jajpur Road Police limits today.

The deceased has been identified as Jogamaya Jena, a resident of Natapada area.

Sources said when Jogamaya was returning from school with her colleague Mohini Mohan Muduli, when the miscreant attacked them with sharp weapon near Racchipur  square. While Jogamaya died on the spot in the brutal attack, her colleague suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. After his condition deteriorated he was shifted to SCB Medical College and hospital in Cuttack.

However, the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.  Police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconding accused.
