11 places in Odisha recorded day temperatures at 40 Degrees Celsius or above; Boudh, Malkangiri sizzle with 42

Bhubaneswar: With mercury on the rise at many places in Odisha, at least eleven places of the State today witnessed day temperatures at 40 Degrees Celsius or above.

Boudh and Malkangiri recorded the highest maximum (day) temperature at 42.0 Degrees Celsius each. This was followed by Angul and Bolangir (41.7) each, Jharsuguda (41.6), Titilagarh and Bhawanipatna (41.0) each, Nuapada (40.4), Rourkela (40.2), Sundargarh (40.1), and Talcher (40.0).

With cyclonic circulation over Odisha and neighbourhood becoming less marked, heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next four days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

Temperature forecast: Gradual rise in the maximum (day) temperature by 2°C to 3°C during next three days and fall by 2°C to 4°C at many places during subsequent two days over the districts of Odisha.
