32 places in Odisha record day temperature at 40 Degrees Celsius or above; Bhubaneswar hottest with 43.6

Bhubaneswar: With mercury on the rise at many places in Odisha, at least thirty-two places of the State witnessed day temperature at 40 Degrees Celsius or above, today.

Bhubaneswar City recorded the highest day (maximum) temperature at 43.6 Degrees Celsius. It was followed by Boudh (43.5), Angul (43.3), Jharsuguda (42.8), Baripada (42.6), Khordha, Malkangiri, and Titilagarh each (42.5), Jagatsinghpur (42.3), Balasore, Nuapada, Sambalpur, and Talcher each (42.2), Bhawanipatna, Bolangir, Dhenkanal, and Nayagarh each (42.0), Jajpur, and Paralakhemundi each (41.8), Hirakud (41.6), Cuttack, Kendrapara, and Sundargarh each (41.4), Bargarh, and Chandbali each (41.2), Bhadrak, and Nabarangpur each (41.0), Keonjhar (40.9), Chhatrapur (40.8), Sonepur (40.7) and Phulbani, and Rourkela each (40.4).

Temperature forecast: No large change in maximum (day) temperature during the next three days and a slight fall by 2°C to 3°C thereafter at many places over the district of Odisha.

Notably, people are to take precautionary measures while going outside during the day hours between 1100 Hrs IST and 1500 Hrs IST, a special bulletin of the IMD regional centre in Bhubaneswar advised.
