40 passengers narrowly escape as private bus rams into Hyva truck in Odisha’s Jajpur

Dharmasala: At least 40 passengers of a private bus had a close shave today after the vehicle rammed into a Hyva truck from behind and then climbed a road divider near Neulapur Chhak on NH-16 under Dharmasala police limits in Jajpur district.

However, five of the bus passengers sustained grievous injuries in the road mishap and no casualties have been reported so far, a senior official of Dharmasala police station said.

According to sources, driver of the speeding bus named ‘Ajaya’ lost control of the vehicle and hit the Hyva truck. The bus was on its way from Bhubaneswar to Balasore when it met with an accident at around 12 Noon.

On being informed, a team of local fire services personnel reached the accident site and rescued the injured passengers and sent them to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Dharmasala police have launched a probe into the road mishap.
