8 places in Odisha recorded day temperatures at 40 Degrees Celsius or above

Bhubaneswar: With mercury on the rise at many places in Odisha, at least eight places of the State witnessed day temperatures at 40 Degrees Celsius or above, today.

Baripada and Jharsuguda recorded the highest maximum (day) temperature at 40.4 Degrees Celsius, followed by Bolangir (40.3) and Talcher, Bhawanipatna, Titilagarh, Nayagarh, and Boudh towns each (40.0). Besides, nine more places recorded day temperatures above (39.0).

The Maximum temperature is very likely to rise by 2°C to 4°C over the districts of Odisha during next two days and no large change thereafter. The Minimum temperature is likely to gradually rise by 2°C to 3°C during next two to three days at many places over the districts of Odisha and no large change thereafter, a special bulletin issued by IMD regional centre in Bhubaneswar said.
