“From September 1, BPIA is likely to start 24 hours operations. On the service becoming operational, we will draw up schedules for all flights coming to the airport. The airport terminal will have 24-hour security personnel on duty, shopping complex, and other services as a result of which there will be no inconvenience to passengers arriving at the airport at any time of the day,” informed BPIA Director R Mahalingam.

From September 1, BPIA will operate round-the-clock for which departmental permission has been accorded.

Notably, 20 flights to New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Varanasi, and Port Blair currently operate from BPIA.

However, the service is not available round-the-clock. It’s expected that more flights will operate to Bhubaneswar after BPIA gets round the clock air connectivity.
