Bhubaneswar: Vigilance DSP looted of gold ornaments at gunpoint

Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted gold ornaments from a Vigilance DSP at gunpoint in Unit-3 area of Odisha capital today.

According to reports, two bike-borne miscreants committed the loot around 6.45 am this morning when Vigilance DSP Tanuja Mohanty was present in front of her official residence. The looters threatened Mohanty and her family members showing a gun and snatched gold chain, gold earrings and bangles from her.

“As the miscreants attempted to snatch the gold chain from her neck, she raised an alarm following which I came out of the house. As I approached towards the looters, one of them threatened me and my wife at gunpoint. They told her to hand over the gold chain and other ornaments worn by her. They fled the spot after the incident,” said Mohanty’s husband.

A complaint has been lodged in this connection at the Kharavela police station and further investigation was underway to identify and nab the wrongdoers.
