Braving rain, former Odisha MLA KV Singh Deo protests against power cuts in Patnagarh

Patnagarh: Senior BJP leader and former Patnagarh MLA Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo today protested against alleged power outages going on in the Assembly constituency segment by standing under lashing rain in front of Tata Power (TPWODL) office in Odisha’s Bolangir district.

According to a source, the BJP leader opposed ‘power cuts’ being done even during the rainy season when the water level in different reservoirs of power utilities is sufficient enough. Along with some of his party supporters, Singh Deo silently stood for hours together until the TPWODL authorities in Patnagarh assured him that there will be no interruption of power supply, henceforth.

“We have seen how people were suffering due to undeclared power cuts in this region in the scorching heat of summer. What is the logic behind doing the same in the rainy season?” Singh Deo questioned.

“People are suffering like anything. Even hospitals do not have the power supply,” the BJP leader added.

Worth mentioning, the former Patnagarh MLA yesterday challenged the sitting BJD MLA Saroj Kumar Meher from the Assembly constituency saying that the senior BJP leader is ready to shave half of his moustache, if Meher would come to an open stage for a debate on the pseudo ‘development’ that the latter has done over nearly four and a half years for people who elected him.

Singh Deo said this in an induction programme organised at Budhibahal village under Khaprakhol block of the constituency in Bolangir district. In case, the sitting MLA does not come for an open debate then the people’s representative ought to tonsure his head before the public, Singh Deo expressed.
