Dense fog very likely in these Odisha districts during next two days; IMD issues Yellow alert

Bhubaneswar: With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha during the next 48 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Minimum temperatures observed no large change over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, below normal at one or two places over the districts of Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: Minimum (night) temperature is very likely to rise by 2oC to 3oC during next two days at many places and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 32.0°C was recorded at Nabarangpur and the lowest minimum temperature of 8.6°C was recorded at Sundargarh in the plains of Odisha.

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Keonjhar and Deogarh.

For Tuesday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 31.01.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
