IMD predicts dry weather in Odisha districts for next 3 days; rainfall activities thereafter

Bhubaneswar: With a trough from east Vidarbha to interior Odisha becoming less marked, dry weather is very likely to prevail over Odisha districts during the next 72 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD centre mentioned, “Maximum temperatures observed no large change over the districts of Odisha. They were above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperatures observed appreciable rise at most places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, markedly above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: Maximum (day) temperature is likely to gradually rise by 4-6°C during next three days and no large change thereafter. The Minimum (night) temperature is likely to rise by 2-4°C during next three days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest (day) maximum temperature of 37.2°C was recorded at Boudh and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 16.0°C was recorded at Sundargarh in the plains of Odisha.
