Nabarangpur: 24 teachers dismissed from service for remaining absent since 2010

Nabarangpur: Acting tough on dereliction of duty, Nabarangpur Collector has dismissed as many as 24 teachers of the district who were on leave for several years despite receiving salary.

The teachers were allegedly not coming to the educational institutions since 2010 without serving any leave application.

As the matter came to fore, a probe was ordered in this regard. Subsequently, the School and Mass Education Department directed the District Education Officer to take action against the absentees.

Accordingly, the district administration had in July last year written to all Block Education Officers to submit a report over the teachers.

Further investigation revealed that as many as 31 teachers were absent in such manner. While show-cause notices were served to all of them, the 24 teachers didn’t reply within the stipulated 15 days, for which action was taken against them.
